New coach Victoria

Victoria Spence

 

Dear Members,

 

A few of you will have seen the latest member of our coaching network helping out at the Club in the last week or so.

 

Her name is Victoria Spence, she is originally from Grantham, Lincolnshire and is currently in her second year, studying Sports Development with Coaching, at Northumbria University.

 

Victoria has her Level 1 in Athletics and is starting to work towards her level 2. She has previously coached at the Emmanuel School in Gateshead coaching Netball and has worked in various primary schools coaching different activities completing her Junior and Community Sports Leader Awards. She has also completed her Sports Ability+ Award whilst helping out coaching within a disability club coaching children different activities they can take part in.

 

In April Victoria will be going to Portugal for warm weather training with her University Athletics team in preparation for the final championships at the beginning of May. A few unknown facts about Victoria include her favourite holiday when she went to Greece for a week with her friends, her favourite food being chocolate and she last went to the cinema to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D, the best film she has seen recently is Avatar. She hopes to succeed in athletics in the student championships for discus and her dream would be to be able to compete at the Olympics one day, if not, she is most likely to become a P.E. teacher or escape to Australia coaching!
