On Tuesday January 28, 2014 North Shields Poly received Clubmark accreditation. The award, presented by Nick Ridgeon of England Athletics, signifies the club as being a safe, effective and member friendly club.
Work towards this award was started by Tommy Brannon and later picked up by Michelle Wordsworth and John Renney. Between them, Tommy, Michelle and John volunteered many hours work into the collation and organisation of information and procedures, all under the direction of club chairman Ian Woodward. Club secretary John Brettell deserves a special mention for his work in undertaking the co-ordination of the clubs junior section.
Cub membership in 2012 totalled 479 members, which grew to 560 members in 2013. The 5 year club plan, which was produced as a requirement of Clubmark, aims to increase membership to 800 by July 2018.
In order to prepare and accommodate for a growth towards an 800 member club we need volunteers. The club cannot exist without them. If you would like to find out more about volunteering at North Shields Poly then please contact John Renney via email email@example.com.
