Poly Calendar Girls raise over £1400 for Cullercoats RNLI

As many of you know, several members of the COWS open water swimming group, plus other Poly women recruits were to be seen discreetly undressing in various locations in North Tyneside over last Summer.  This was not because they had become naturists, but they were putting together a calendar, rather in the manner of the famous Calendar Girls.  All disciplines of the Poly were represented in the photos from the fell runners (a useful  large map covering what was necessary!) to the track (strategically placed clipboards!) to turbo (back views only!) to Triathlon (long distance views!).  The subsequent calendar, the brain child of Kate Dyson, was very tasteful and not only that, has now raised a magnificent £1418.40 for the RNLI at Cullercoats.

Kate says,  ‘Our Christmas calendar photograph was a bit surreal. It was photographed in the middle of June which was one of the hottest days of the year and the house we were being photographed was fully decorated as if it were Christmas Day. I’d also like to thank Kimberly Cockburn for her time and effort who volunteered to take the photographs for the calendar.’

Well done Ladies.  The photo below shows some of the group with their clothes on!
