Last weekend saw the running of the Coledale Horseshoe, the first Lake District race to be included in the Poly championship. Despite predictions that no one would turn up, thanks Barry, a magnificent nine Poly runners took part. A remarkable achievement considering that a couple of regulars were injured and five Poly members were taking part in the Allendale Challenge.
So after the first two races we have had a total of 15 members taking part, four of them first timers in the championship. Leading the men is Will Robson who was first home at Coledale taking over from Scott Ellis who won at Brough Law. Mr Dependable, Chris Rowe was second home thereby getting revenge on Scott who beat him by a couple of minutes at Brough Law. For the ladies, Katherine Davis maintained her winning start and is the only runner with a 100% points score. Special mentions must go to Mark Smith who picked up a couple of cracked ribs on the way around and to Lisa Henderson who kick started her Lakes fell running career by completing a tough A category race.
